The Springfield & Central Illinois African American History Museum (AAHM) invites students in grades 3rd–5th to join this year’s FREE summer camp:
Behind the Mask: Exploring History, Expressing Identity Through Art & Movement

• Week 2: June 8–12, 2026
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Campers will:
Explore African and African American cultural traditions
Learn the meaning and symbolism behind masks, patterns, and storytelling
Express themselves through art, movement, and dance
Build confidence, creativity, and new friendships
